These special herb candles are made by either mixing in the herb with the wax
while making the candle, or by rolling the dressed candle in the powdered
herb. You may also sprinkle the herb in the oil and then dress the candle
with the oil. Here are some herbs to use:
Love......Add powdered vervain and powdered passion flower to a red candle or a pink
candle, depending on the color you prefer.
Passion.....Add powdered myrtle and powdered cloves to a red candle.
Marriage......Add powdered orange blossoms, powdered orris root and powdered anise seed to a
red candle.
Healing........add powdered blessed thistle to a light blue candle.
Uncrossing.......Add powdered wood betoney to a white candle.
Spiritual and Psychic Power.....Add powdered anise seed to a purple or white candle, depending
on the color you prefer.
Luck.......Add powdered peony and powdered five-finger grass to a green candle.
Protection from Evil.....Add powdered five-finger grass and powdered sandalwood to a light blue candle.
Money.....Add powdered thyme, powdered clover and powdered bayberry
herb to a green candle.
Understanding......Add powdered frankincense to a light blue candle.
Success.....Add powdered cinnamon, powdered Irish moss and powdered five-finger grass to an orange candle.
Of course, these special herb candles will have to be blessed, the ritual
objective inscribed on the candle, and the candle dressed with the
appropriate oil before it is given to the person to burn. It is best to wrap
the candle in white paper cut in form of a triangle, until the person is
ready to burn the candle in their home.
